IVA : Will I Have To Attend Court To Do My IVA?

The simple answer to the question is NO you will not need to attend Court whilst applying for an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA).

Unlike with the Bankruptcy process which does require a person to attend Court, an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) does not require the applicant to attend Court.

The general confusion surrounding the attending Court issue is caused by the terminology.

An Individual Voluntary Arrangement application, or 'IVA proposal', is registered at the court, but there is no requirement for the debtor to attend Court in person.

However, a person wishing to declare themselves Bankrupt will have to attend Court for their bankrutcy hearing, at which their petition is heard.

Here at myIVA-Adviser.com we have put together a FREE guide for you to download, which explains the crucial differences between the Individual Voluntary Arrangement process and the bankruptcy process.

For further information on the steps to applying for an Individual Voluntary Arrangement, call myIVA-Adviser.com on 0800 088 7503 where our experienced Individual Voluntary Arrangement advisers are waiting to answer any questions you may have on the Individual Voluntary Arrangement subject.
